Upcoming UDI-DI Change for Bossklein Etch Gel

Bossklein would like to inform customers, distributors and supply chain partners of an upcoming UDI-DI / GTIN change affecting two products within our restorative dentistry range:

• Bossklein Etch Gel 12g (BOS9903) – NEW UDI-DI: 4772178009562
• Bossklein Maxi Etch Gel 60g (BOS9904) – NEW UDI-DI: 4772178009555

The Unique Device Indentifier (UDI) is a mandatory requirement for medical devices. This update is part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining accurate product identification and ensuring compliance with global supply chain standards.

What is Changing?

The Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) and therefore their UDI-DI for both Bossklein Etch Gel products will be updated. The products themselves remain unchanged, with the same trusted formulation, performance characteristics and intended use.

Customers can continue to expect the same high-quality Etch Gel products, including:

• 37% phosphoric acid etching gel
• Optimum viscosity for precise application
• Reliable tooth surface preparation
• Easy placement using dedicated application tips

The update only affects product identification and ordering systems and does not impact product performance or clinical use.

What Do Customers Need To Do?

To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend that distributors, purchasing teams and inventory managers:

• Update internal product databases with the new UDI-DI
• Review ordering and procurement systems
• Notify relevant supply chain and logistics teams
• Ensure barcode records are updated where applicable

Product codes (SKUs) and product descriptions will remain unchanged unless otherwise advised.

Transition Period

Please be aware that the previous UDI-DIs remain valid during the transition period as previously manufactured products remain on the market. Customers may encounter both the existing and new UDI-DIs within ordering systems and inventory records. We recommend updating systems as soon as possible to minimise disruption and maintain accurate stock management.
